About The Loony Dook! Every New Year's Day, people from around Scotland gather in South Queensferry, to swim in the murky, near freezing cold waters of the Firth of Forth. This is a popular and widely reported event the exact reasons for which have already become somewhat obscure but the obvious reason is to wash away the alcoholic sins of Hogmanay and refresh the parts other swimming venues do not reach! Either way, it's a great event which raises money for good causes and provides an outlet for the penitent and exhibitionist alike.
