We’re inviting all Londoners to stamp your mark on www.london.gov.uk by getting your photos on the site. It’s really simple – just join the group and submit your photos.

Almost everyone has access to a camera of some description, whether it’s the latest digital SLR or the camera on your mobile, so it’s easy to get involved.

We’re not paying a fee for using the photos submitted but we can credit you on the banner we create. A good example is the banner we’ve created for London’s Datastore using a visualisation from ITO Labs. Millions of people visit London.gov.uk every year so that’s lots of eyeballs that could be looking at your pictures.

But back to the point of this group. It’s about giving you the opportunity - whatever your background or profession - to make London.gov.uk your own by putting your face on the site and sharing your view of life in this great city. If you think that’s a good thing then share your photos with the group!

What kinds of photos are we looking for?

We’re really interested in Londoners being the face of the site, after all it is a site for London, so we’re interested in people. Interesting shots of every day Londoners in every day situations.

We’re also interested in shots from around our great city – they don’t have to be of iconic landmarks, what’s important is that the photos are about London, living in London, working in London and the people in London.

Where will we use the photos?

We’ll use the photos on www.london.gov.uk as banners on our pages. Take a look at the site for some examples, and the format is worth bearing in mind if you’re thinking about what might work.
