hi all,
I have the same problem as Hannan Jones, and to add to that I'm not uk based at present, as I live in italy. I'm half english and some of my relatives lives in the west london area, but in this particular moment they can't accomodate me. tried to search gumtree and, even though there's lots of single rooms for rent, it seems it's kinda hard to get one from abroad.
If anyone knows about a temporary accomodation anywhere in london, so I can search for a long term accomodation from there, please let me know!
I'm tidy, been living on my own for 10 years already, and I already have a job as a photographer for an advertising agency here in italy, and will continue to work for them from abroad.

Even sites like rightmove advertise flat shares and suchlike. Beware ads on Gumtree, some of those ads have been exposed by the media as scams. Generally speaking, if it sounds too good to be true, it usually is. Don't pay any deposit until you have seen the room, and make sure that the person asking for the money is the acutal owner of the place, or someone authorized by the owner, i.e. a proper agent (they do tend to charge, though).
