How do you supply your photos to the Photobox? The reason why your prints are not coming out well, I think is because of the color proof and space. If you are supplying your photos as RGB then that's the problem with printing. What happens is that the lab has to convert the photos fro RGB to CMYK, when this is done the colour shift dramatically. Is best if you do this conversion yourself before sending them to the lab, so you know what you are printing.
I am planning to print some of my photos and I am not sure where to print them and what type of print I want to use. So, I found this place in Kingsland Street. I will be visiting them to see their work and I might print the picture from them.
This is the place www.theprintspace.co.uk and you can do online orders and everything else, have a look.
Hope that helps

I just had some back today from PhotoBox and mine are fine taken on a Canon G7 Nikon D70 and D700.
I always get the 7x5 prints and they are great.
Shot in raw and post in Lightroom.

Az Kola: I supply my photos to Photobox the same way I've been doing it for the last four years: JPEG / sRGB but I have only seen problems in the last 6 months.
I don't know if it is related to the new camera.
The last time I checked the Photobox rules, they advised JPEG / sRGB but I have checked their pages today and except for new rules on Calibration, there is nothing on sRGB or AdobeRGB. I know nothing about CYMK and I am not going there.
I will check out printspace.
Rangefinder general: I have been with Photobox since 2006 and I have printed from 6x4 to A3 size. My current problems started about 6 months ago. (Though the problem images were processed in DPP and not Lightroom - which I also have but I tend to favour DPP for portraits and Lightroom for the landscape stuff).

I think you might have to email them and ask what's wrong.

Truprint. Good old holiday snap Truprint.
They knock Fuji's own dedicated service into a faded green cocked hat.
Real photographic processing with digital files. What more could you want?
Where can I get a 1000 35 mm negs scanned hi-Q to disk for less than a fortune?

I used to work at Photobox when they were still a relatively small company; and have heard from people that the service has gotten worse as they've gotten bigger.
If you do email them regarding it, ask if they are still calibrating the frontiers first thing in the morning, and then again in the afternoon (to start off with)
I'm guessing they can't really do the quality checking we used to do due to the volume of work that must go through every day..

For top quality prints go to FauxFilm. Very reasonable prices for the quality on offer. Try them and you will see what I mean.

If you use their profiles, they will be spot on. I stopped using Photobox after getting 1 of the metallic prints back from these guys.

I've had almost the exact same experience as Neil. The metallic prints are amazing and they've delivered consistent prints for me for about two years now.
