VERY sad story

view profile

Mark Kalkwarf says:

I recently went on a trip to Greece for a few days and shot 5 rolls of film with my LCA while there. I was shooting around a series I wanted to put together on middle aged Greek woman.
I got back last week and couldn’t wait to take them to be developed. I dropped the film off and waited patiently till the next morning to collect.

The next morning as I was standing at the counter waiting for the lady to bring my scanned images I was faced with my worst nightmare….

“It’s all blank” she said!!!!!
The film was clear, not one single image came out!!!

Must be a problem with the camera, going to take it in for repair this week.

Just thought I would share my VERY sad story with everyone.

are you sure it was the camera, and not where you dropped it off at?

It could be something as simple as needing new batteries.

to be quite honest you'd have notice summat up with the camera, since the shutter click and the click when the camera don't even have battery is noticably different.

OUCH!! That means all were underexposed that is why the negatives showed up clear/transparent.

Check the battery first, If the lights in the camera shows up then it might be a sticky shutter problem.

I'll always take my fully manual Smena 35 just to make sure I have something that will work even if I'm out of batteries.

I checked the batteries this morning and the little red light is coming on when I press the shutter. So I'm guessing it must be a shutter problem. Going to call the people today to book it in for repair. This is the first time I will be separated from my little Russian friend... The sadness continues....

I just carry spare batteries.

Too bad, very frustrating. Hope you get it sorted, although you will never recover those lost shots. I'll have a little cry for you!

ALKALINE CELL GPA76. I don't think it's the batteries. On closer inspection it seems like it is in fact the shutter!!! Damn shutter!

It happened to me once.

A friend told me : "It would have never happened with a digital camera".

So I did what he deserved. I punched him in the face.

The lady at my printing place said exactly the same thing "You should use digital"....I would have explained the whole "I LOVE LOMO" story but I was very close to tears at that stage and wasn't very chatty.

ALKALINE CELL GPA76 has a bad charge when its low. You should purchase SR44 Silver Oxide batteries they last five times longer and the charge of the battery is consistent til the battery dies out so the camera wont act all screwy when the battery is starting to get low. Thats what I think happened with your camera

side note: also SR44 is better for the enviroment
