FAQ: Legal Definition of Locksmith Shack
 |
1) Must be craptastic in appearance
2) Must be free-standing
3) Must fall within the lot line of a larger establishment
4) MUST have line art of key someplace backed by any of the following phrases:
a) while you wait
b) 98 cents
c) 99 cents
d) 24 hours
e) shoe repair
Finally. We must address the soft shack phenomenon. It has been brought to my attention that a thing that has commonly been referred to as the 'soft shack' is widespread and arguably thriving in our city. Essentially a soft shack can be defined as a lock-and-key purveyor with a uniquely craptastic facade whose establishment does not physically fall within the lot line of a larger establishment.
Please do not discount soft shacks as you are out on assignment in this, our fair city.
I bid you godspeed.

These shacks you speak of - I see nothing in the Legal Definition of Locksmith Shack, that limits the said location of such shack. I only see, "our fair city." I'm guessing ANY, fair city is game here. Correct me if I'm wrong, Mr. President.

Please refer to the 'LA' in the title of this particular group. That said... Though I can't speak for other jurisdictions it's largely a safe bet these definitions will hold water globally. If you have a non-LA-based lockshack to share - please, bring the pain.

Please stand by. It is indeed a safe bet that other non-LA fair cities will have their own worthy submissions. And with high probability their craptasticness can only be outdone by your own fair LA.

Am sorry to report that to date I have yet to sight a worthy locksmith shack. I would, however, submit this proposal. It seems to me that a sub-category is in order. I have taken it upon myself to upload a series of shacks that fall well within the bounds of two of your four guidelines:
2) Must be free-standing
3) Must fall within the lot line of a larger establishment
I can't say they're craptastic because some of them
are pretty darn snazzy! Snazzy I say!
That is all. I continue on my quest for locksmith shacks.
