About Literary Directory

Are you running a group dedicated to the discussion of literature, criticism in the literary sense, or which is concerned with those historical personages who created it? This directory was created to help users on Flickr find such groups, so please feel free to talk about your group in the discussion section.

This is not an 18+ group, so no adult material will be allowed. If you're running a poetry or fiction writing group and the literature that your membership will be discussing is their own, then your group should be listed in the Writing Directory group, instead. The primary emphasis in this group is on groups that concern themselves with literature that has come down to us from history. Groups dedicated to contemporary authors might also be on topic, if they're published, reasonably prominent, and the administrator doesn't have an apoplectic fit when the name of one of the authors discussed appears in his group, eg. probably any author whose work you might happen to see in the supermarket checkout lane, or on sale at KMart. Post those at your own risk.

If you were wondering why the administrator made some decision or another, his moderation journal will sometimes provide an answer to your questions, if any ever need to be asked. As the expectations held of the members of this group have been fairly well spelled out, it is his hope that there will be no need for any case studies.
