About Taking Things Literally
Photographs with literal interpretations of idioms and figurative speech, or just photos of things that took themselves literally.
idiom: an expression, term or phrase whose meaning cannot be deduced from the literal definitions and the arrangement of its parts, but refers instead to a figurative meaning that is known only through common use.
Some examples:
When someone has a frog in his throat, it means that they sound very hoarse. But a literal interpretation might be a photo of someone with a frog in her mouth.
Another example: Getting cold feet means to be reluctant or hesitant to do something. A literal interpretation:

A photo of the word buttons, spelled out in buttons, is a great example of objects that take themselves literally.
Some basic guidelines:
1. Photos of figurative speech taken literally. Photoshop welcome!
2. Photos should be safe for all audiences. Nudity may be allowed, but pornography is not. Please use good judgment when posting photos.
3. Please state the idiom/figurative speech in your description.Suggested, but not required. Sometimes the photos speak for themselves.
4. All languages welcome! However, if you are able, please interpret to English (as literally as possible). It is always interesting to learn what idioms exist around the world.
5. Be safe! Please don't endanger yourself or others while taking your photos. Swallowing a whole frog for the example above might not be a good idea, but eating fried frog legs would work.
