The LINES Project is part of a programm set up for young people from the European Union called ‚Youth in Action’. Our team created the idea for this project during meetings of the ESN Anadolu (European Student Network at Anadolu University Eskisehir) which is part of the Erasmus Student Network.

The aim of this project is to built a symbolic bridge between two different cities, countries and cultures by a comparative study of photography in the cities Eskisehir and Linz. Taking a photographic glimse at urban structure, public facilities and simple daily life situations in both cities will create mirror images of both cities. This project will introduce both cities to each other by the images taken to the determined identical topics, which will reveal similarities and differences of the two cities Linz and Eskisehir.

Participants will submit their work by filling out a form on the official web site. The photos, which will finally be exhibited, will be determined by a jury. There is no limitation regarding the numbers of photos submitted as long as they are appropriate according to the determined topics ( e.g. city scenes, scene of bridges, universities, parks, streets, statues, monuments,....)

It has to be reminded that this project is not a competition. Participants cannot obtain any reward, besides a catalog, prepared at the end of the project and provided as present. In this catalog also the owner of the photograph will be displayed with his or her work

Furthermore another important outcome of this project is provided by the planned sale of the exhibited works. The profit which will be obtained from the sale will be donated to a social institution.

LINES Projesi Avrupa Birliği tarafından 'Youth in Action' olarak adlandırılan çalışma grubunun bir araya gelerek oluşturduğu bir organisazyondur. Ekibimiz bu proje fikrini Erasmus Student Network'e bağlı ESN Anadolu (Anadolu Üniversitesi European Student Network) bünyesinde yapılan toplantılar sonucunda ortaya çıkarmıştır.

Eskişehir ve Linz kentlerinin fotoğraflar üzerinden karşılaştırmalı anlatımı olan bu projede amaç iki farklı ülkenin iki farklı şehrini, kent dokusu ve yaşamı gibi açılardan daha detaylı bir şekilde ele alarak iki farklı kültür arasında bir köprü kurmaktır. Ayrıca bu proje her iki kentin tanıtımına da katkıda bulunacaktır. Bu bağlamda belirlenen konu başlıkları doğrultusunda fotoğraflar ile farklılıklar ve benzerlikler ele alınacak.

Katılımcılar resmi web sitesi üzerinden çalışmalarını form bilgilerini doldurarak gönderecek ve oluşturulan jüri tarafından sergide yer alacak fotoğraflar belirlenecek. Gönderilecek çalışmalardaki istenilen sayıda fotoğraf gönderilebilecek. Sergiler tamamlandıktan ve sonuç raporu yayımlandıktan sonra zamanda web sitesi üzerinden de sonuç raporu yayımlanacak.

Unutulmamalı ki bu organizasyon bir yarışma değildir. Etkinliğe katılacak kişilere ödül verilmez sadece etkinlik sonunda hazırlanacak katalog hediye edilir. Ayrıca fotoğraf sahiplerinin isimleri çalışmalarının ile birlikte belirtilecektir.

Proje Mayıs ayının sonlarına doğru tamamlanacak ve sergi açılacaktır. Daha sonraki süreçte sonuç raporu ve katalog basılacaktır. Ayrıca projenin en önemli sonucu ise sergilenen eserlerin satışı ve bu satıştan elde edilecek gelirin bir sosyal kurumuna bağışlanması olacak.

Das LINES-Projekt ist Teil des Programmes 'Youth in action', initiiert von der Europäischen Union für junge Menschen. Die Idee zum Projekt entstand bei Meetings des ESN Anadolu (European Student Network an der Anadolu Universität Eskisehir), welches direkt mit dem Erasmus Student Network in Verbindung steht.

Ziel dieses Projektes ist es, zwei unterschiedliche Städte, Länder und Kulturen durch eine vergleichende fotographische Studie in den Städten Eskisehir und Linz gegenüberzustellen und so eine symbolische Brücke zu schaffen. Durch fotographische Momentaufnahmen von Stadtstruktur, öffentlichen Einrichtungen sowie Alltagssituationen wird ein Spiegelbild beider Städte erarbeitet. In diesem Projekt lernen sich beide Städte durch die Aufnahmen zu festgelegten identischen Themen kennen, wobei Ähnlichkeiten und Unterschiede von den Städten Linz und Eskisehir deutlich gemacht werden sollen.

TeilnehmerInnen reichen ihre Arbeiten über ein Formular auf der offiziellen Homepage ein. Die Auswahl der Fotos, welche ausgestellt werden, wird von einer Jury getroffen. Es gibt keinerlei Beschränkung hinsichtlich der Anzahl der eingereichten Fotos, so lange diese den festgelegten Themen entsprechen (z.Bsp. Stadtszenen, Brücken, Universitäten, Parks, Straßen, Statuen, Monumente...).

Es muss daran erinnert werden, dass dieses Projekt kein Wettkampf ist. TeilnehmerInnen bekommen keinerlei Entlohnung. Allerdings wird am Ende des Projektes ein Katalog erstellt, den jede_r TeilnehmerIn als Präsent bekommt. In diesem werden auch die Daten des Fotografen mit seiner oder ihrer Arbeit gezeigt.

Ein weiteres wichtiges Ergebnis des Projektes soll durch den geplanten Verkauf der ausgestellten Werke erreicht werden. Der Profit, der mit dem Verkauf gemacht wird, soll einer sozialen Einrichtung als Spende zu Gute kommen.
