About Lincoln, England
For myopic short-legged tourists and seedy characters Lincoln is the place to be.
Here we specialise in the random unprovoked attack (vicious) and lousy driving.
Lincoln is also the birthplace of George Boole - you know, of Boolean logic and set theory fame.
Possibly one of the most intelligent inhabitants ever, it was he, along with the Grateful Dead and the US Army, who gave us the Internet we know and love.
Whatever they might try to tell you, they don't take kindly to brainy types round here.
Boole shipped out to Ireland to do his major work, and Lincoln's cheesy tourist industry has forgotten him, preferring to go on pretending that Tennyson lived here in town, rather than in Somersby, which is miles away.
Please, if you think you are the first person to take a photo of Lincoln Cathedral, don't put it here.
Likewise other banal tourist shots. We're really not interested, we just want your money.
