About I'm with the band - life as a rock photographer

Welcome to "I'm with the band - life as a rock photographer".
I started this group with the hope it would become a place for live music and music lifestyle photographers to share their images and opinions. Your images can be live, backstage or studio as long as it is about music. (We exclude candy pop.) I am hoping to see Jazz, blues, punk and indy side by side here....."rock" is a word with wide definition for us here.
This is a rating community and works on a rating scale.
Here are the rules.
PLEASE READ THEM
Once you post your own picture rate the previous five with a score between 1 - 10 .
Your score should look like this...
I'm with the band... by … / 10 points.
It is required that with your vote you take the time and try to be as clear as possible and express yourself in a constructive way. We are all here to try and get better.
Please wait for 5 photos to be posted before you post again.
Any pictures with under a score of 40 will be removed by a mod OR you can help us out a bit and remove it yourself.
Any score with a 40 or over will stay in the pool.
If you photo recieves a 45 or higher it is automatically awarded a IWTB Hall of Fame tag and will remain in the pool.
We will give one warning to people who do not follow the rules and then you are out. Not to mention the fact that it makes you look less than stellar that you can't read and comprehend.
If there are any issues with missing votes or problems please contact myself, Shadow Angelina or Chad.
This is NOT the place to post the glossy typical blown out images you see in magazines. This is a place to try something different.
This is about art and music colliding. I am interested in risk takers and people who want to push themselves farther and see what lies beyond the typical rock shot. Just because there is blur or silouette does not make it a bad photo. Just because it is dark and you need to blow it up to look closely at the image does not justify a low score.
I am hoping that people will put time into this community and that the community in turn will become a place where people can feel comfortable enough to ask questions, attempt new techniques and support each other.
I am not adverse to flash but think we can all agree that flash when used as a crutch not only kills the "vibe" of an image but is often simply used because one is lazy. That is not to say that flash is not welcome but please be aware of the drawbacks.
This group is by invite only....yeah yeah we are being snotty but we would like to keep a level of excellence here. Chad, Shadow Angelina and I are TOTALLY open to suggestions for new members.
If you are interested in the likes of Ross Halfin, Pennie Smith and Jim Marshall this is the place for you. It would be awesome to be able to introduce the group to new and interesting photographers that we find but I think the knowledge of past photographers and the history that they created is sorely lacking.
If you want to get better. Want to get "real" feedback. Want to connect and find out how or why an image looks the way it does this is the place for you.
PLEASE if your image does not have the details listed about what camera, lens or app you shot something with try to add it yourself and let us know. If you don't know you can say that as well. I just would like people to be able to learn and I would like a place to learn as well.
Your often coffee deprived dictator
