About Life After Class

Welcome!

Life After Class - has been founded, by graduates of Digital Photography 143-100 at Front Range Community College in Colorado. Before taking this class, some of us had never done much more than pushed a button on some tourist’s point and shoot to take their smiling picture in front of a local landmark. On the opposite end of the spectrum some of us have taken photographs all are lives and had become bored of our predictable results. Some of us were in the middle, professional photographers or art students who were looking for a new skill, medium or a competitive edge. Most of us fell somewhere between these categories.

What this class did for all of us was to teach us some vital information, practices and techniques that transcend beyond photography the medium to the realm of art. Color, texture, symbolism, pattern, tone and overall composition have all been areas of concentration and things we are starting to consider more in artistic vision.

We are not unified in or politics, faith, social philosophies, artistic vision or even where Photography stands in our future plans but we would like to see our artistic and creative abilities evolve further to achieve a some tangible significance and success.

So far guidance from our former Professor Alison Barrows-Young has encouraged our will to do so. Now it’s our turn to take the helm.

RULES:
Every member that takes part in a week's theme may post up to six relevant photographs and are required to provide one critique of another participating member in the forum that follows.

Critiques must be at least three sentences long with a description of the photo’s subject matter, a break down of the photos design elements and a suggestion or comment on the impact or strength of the work based on the above considerations.

Theme topics should be submitted by email to the facilitators where they will be approved and then placed on a first come first submit basis.

This group has been created for all audiences so please do not post anything obscene, gratuitously violent or pornographic.

We reserve the right to delete all entries that do not adhere to our rules and vision.
