About Us: Build Your Skills & Get Excited

This is a photo group for those who enjoy taking photos across a number of genres. This is your chance to learn new techniques, build your skills, and increase the quality of the photos you take.

Since I use GIMP, the tutorials given will be in GIMP, which are easily transferable to Photoshop. (if anyone is a Photoshop wiz, I will make you and administrator so that we can give the tutorials in both) you can download GIMP from the Lets Get Excited website here Download GIMP . www.letsgetexcited.com is the home base for this group where winning submissions will be posted, tutorials will be viewable and prizes will be downloaded.

Here is the basic flow of how this group will work:
Each Monday a new assignment will be given out here, that will build on some aspect of photography i.e. a certain lighting technique, aperture settings, GIMP/Photoshop/after camera editing . . .ect paired with a subject matter i.e. flowers, animals, landscape.

Tuesday through Saturday members of the group will submit photos in the Lets Get Excited Member pool. Sunday, a group of finalists will be chosen and posted on Lets get Excited for the group members to vote on and that next Monday a winner will be announced.

At the end of the month the 4 weekly winner’s photos will be voted on to see who took the photo of the month. The Photo of the Month winner will get a gift certificate redeemable on line.
