About Lent Photos 2009
Once again, Cathy is gathering us all to take photos each day as a part of our Lenten journey. The following scripture passages will guide our weekly visual reflections:
Ash Wednesday: Matthew 6:1-6, 16-21
Week 1 (Mar 1): Mark 1:9-15
We’re driven into the wilderness with Jesus.
Week 2 (Mar 8): Mark 8:31-38
Jesus lays out the expectations for his disciples.
Week 3 (Mar 15): John 2: 13-22
Jesus turns the tables over at the temple.
Week 4 (Mar 22): John 3:14-21
The stark reality of our need of repentance and God’s provision to meet our need.
Week 5 (Mar 29): John 12:20-33.
The expectations of discipleship to Jesus include hating our life in this world (?) and following him, even to the point of our own death.
Palm Sunday Week 6 (Apr 5): Mark 11:1-11
Maundy Thursday (Apr 9):
Good Friday (Apr 10): John 18 and 19
Easter (Apr 12): Mark 16:1-8
