Ash Wednesday approaches and I ask you to stop by here periodically and share your Lenten journey with the rest of us. Maybe its photos of your church's fish fry, a favorite prayer or reflection, whatever it may be -- join us and share a little of yourself over the next forty days.

About Lent, 40 Days in the Wilderness

Lent is the period of fasting and preparation begining on Ash Wednesday and Ending on Maundy Thursday. (This differs slightly in the Eastern Church.) The Church provides this special opportunity to reflect on our lives and become more aware of the times we have failed to live up to our baptimal promises. Prayer, fasting, almsgiiving and Friday fish fries are some of the icons of this season.

Not finding a similar group, I decided to start this one myself.

I hope we can make this a place of inspiration and fellowship during this season of Lent. I cannot do it alone so suggestions, ideas and participation are strongly encouraged.

I would like everyone to share photos that they feel represent this season. Please only add those photos that are meaningful to you and that you believe others will appreciate in the similar fashion. They do not need to be overtly religious or pious, but should reflect the theme of Lent.

Everyone is welcome, so please invite your contacts.
