The island of Lefkada is a part of the Ionian Islands cluster and it is located at the Ionian Sea, above the islands of Ithaca and Kefalonia and on the western side of the coastline of the prefecture of Etoloakarnania. Lefkada has a coastline of 117 km and it also has approximately 21.100 inhabitants.
Lefkada is considered to be a very special island as an artificial canal of 25 meters separates it and two bridges connect it. Apart from this particularity Lefkada is an island with beautiful beaches, impressive sites and cozy inhabitants and it more seems to have a mountainous and not quite an insular character and landscape as well.
