About The Harassed Photographer
NOTE: This is a group to share those photos where you have been confronted/questioned harassed while taking photos. This is not a group to dump your shots. Members please keep this group focused on dialogue.
This is a site for photographers who have been accosted, confronted, threatened, charged, or who have experienced any other attempt to stop or stifle legitimate photography in public places. Suppression of photography by force, intimidation or claims of rights to image ownership where these images are visible in the public realm. Restraint of photographers and photography by property owners, private security, municipal, state, federal police agencies.
Each photo must be described as to location, subject, date, and the photographers direct experience involving the shot, this must be an accurate and truthful description. Profanity, libel, creative licence, name calling will result in removal of the post and the poster.
This site accepts no accountability for libel or slander nor posts that are inaccurate, fabricated, deliberately misleading nor any manufactured story or event posted.
All posters are on their own so be accurate and truthful otherwise don't post.
This group is intended to be an accurate storehouse of information for photographers and may evolve towards providing a resource to help set guidelines for photography at an international level and national level. This is a grey area and hopefully this will be useful in throwing light and clarity on what is currently a mysterious and opaque photographic situation
For those wishing to be un-noticed mobile cameras will be nearly impossible to stop. There will be more mobile phone cameras sold in 2007 than actual digital camera sales. Some of these cameras are now at 3.0MB and climbing. Instant image transmissions will leave 'camera wielders' curious people indeed. Camera carrying photographers in all probability will be the lowest security risks. For these reasons I've chosen a mobile phone as the group icon.'
