About LEAP: Low Elevation Aerial Photography

Photos taken straight down (or close to it) from above and from a low elevation (more than 7 feet and less than 100 feet) with no visible camera support (e.g., not from standing on a wall or a balcony if either the wall or balcony is visible in the shot) and no rotational motion blur (caused by tossing the camera up in the air and giving it a spin to keep it pointed towards the ground -- see the Camera Toss group for those).

We want photographs that look like they were taken from very low flying airplanes (or birds, or helicopters, or ...). We don't want photos that look like you (or someone) was holding the camera up. We don't want photos that weren't shot with the camera facing in the general direction of straight down.

The idea here is to use something to get your camera up in the air (a monopod or a pole you've secured your camera to) so that it is directly (or close to directly) aimed back towards the ground. You can also climb up on something (or into something like a tree) and shoot from there but remember that whatever it is that's supporting you shouldn't be obvious in the photo.
