About Land Between The Rivers History
Land Between The Rivers highlights the interesting things found in LBL-NRA (see www.lbl.org and www.betweentherivers.org). Pictures of what exists now, approximately 40 years after the communities that existed before were disbanded by the acquisition of all land between the Tennessee River/Kentucky Lakes in the 1940's, the similar acquisition of lands along the Cumberland River to form Lakes Barkley in the 1950's and 60's, and the final acquisition of lands by Tennessee Valley Authority to form Land Between The lakes National Recreation Area in 1964.
Everyone is welcome and is encouraged to contribute photos.
