About Lawn Alternatives
The Lawn Reform Coalition invites you to contribute to our database of groundcovers that can be substituted for traditional turf grass. While mixed gardens, gravel and other design options are an excellent alternative to lawn, this photo collection is for groundcovers or perennials that can be planted en masse and mimic the ornamental or recreational properties of a traditional lawn. We ask that plants have been in the ground for at least two years to ensure that they are a viable alternative over time.
