About Langstone Harbour
Langstone Harbour is an inlet of the English Channel in Hampshire, sandwiched between Portsea Island to the south and west, Hayling Island to the south and east, and Langstone to the north.
Together with Chichester Harbour, which is at the other (eastern) side of Hayling Island it is designated as a Special Protection Area for wildlife.
The harbour is important for its environmental designations, and commercial shipping, fishing and recreational boating have been supported in the harbour for many years.
The Harbour is a haven for charter fishing boats and commercial fishermen. Recreational activities such as yachting, dinghy sailing, motor cruising, wind-surfing, water skiing (under license), jet skiing (with a permit) and canoeing are all well established.
