22 Feb 12 - Please add details of the what / when / where / who / why of your location and its significance for Lanarkshire heritage. Doesn't matter if it's only significant locally, so long as it's historic :-) Subjects can be from the dawn of time right up to the end of the 20th century.

Landscapes, sunsets and artworks will not generally be accepted into this group. Please check out the list of alternative Lanarkshire groups below for scenery etc.

About Lanarkshire Heritage

Every photograph here should be about places with historical significance for Lanarkshire.

Why?
Lanarkshire often gets overlooked when it comes to telling the story of Scotland, but it has the most amazing past. This group is for anything and everything to do with the history or prehistory of this county. It's time Lanarkshire stories got a wider audience, even amongst those of us lucky enough to live here.

When?
Anything from prehistoric mounds to the demolition of Ravenscraig, if it has historical significance for Lanarkshire, then it belongs here. Doesn't matter if it's only significant locally, so long as it's historical, and it's not just a great picture of a location in Lanarkshire.

Where?
For the purposes of this group, any location that falls within the old County of Lanarkshire or the modern authorities of North Lanarkshire / South Lanarkshire can be included.

What?
Since the group is about sharing Lanarkshire history, it's really important to include some brief information about your image, even if it's just a name and location. Submissions without this information will not be accepted.
It would be useful if you geotagged your images, but it’s up to you.
Photographs and videos welcome. Sorry, no artwork. Please respect copyright when uploading images.

Who?
People can appear in the images so long as they aren't the focus. No names please.

No landscapes please. There is already a Lanarkshire Landscapes group.

And after all that, I hope you enjoy the group! If you'd like to join, please send a message to the admin. Please note this group is moderated.
