 OK...I'll change the date!
Then later that night...if you all have any energy left, I'm gonna go shoot Los Fabulocos in that little dive bar in Anaheim at 9PM. Kid Ramos is celebrating his 50th birthday! I am gonna do a great shoot with him later this month as he tries to re-create a photo of himself at 25! He's lost 20 pounds so far and is toning up! This is gonna be fun...hopefully the picture will be ready to hang at the event.

A little FYI. I live down the street from the nature center. You should verify if they will be open. They will be doing some stream remediation soon and will be closing the center for 4-5 months. I don't know when this will start.

I'll put in my calendar and let you know in about a week and a half. Have no conflicts currently. That's right across the freeway from Los Alamitos where we lived when we moved back from Chicago in '86. Its been a while for me....

 this is just a friendly meet-up, not too big. our meet-ups usually have about 10-15 sometimes more people show up...but this one looks like it'll be smaller. Can't wait to meet you.

it's just a meet-up to shoot in the nature park and among the trees. I was gonna bring some model friends of mine just because the location (spooky tree) screams out for some models to get up in the trees...but you can just shoot the nature around you if you want. so far, none of my model friends can make it...do you climb trees?
our meet-ups are general meet-ups (check the threads where we post our shots from the meet-ups) where we all just hang out and shoot stuff, each other, whatever!

Haha, I don't usually model, I don't know if I would be good at it or not, but I would be willing to give it a try, I guess. I might have a friend or two who would be willing to do it, I don't know I'll ask around and see. I don't know any models, though. Well, sounds like were gonna have a lot of fun!!

ALSO....I FOUND A MODEL to pose for us (for about 2 hours) and she'd love it if you could give her a CD of some of your shots (if you decide to shoot her) so she can update her portfolio! She's the model I shot back in July--the ballet one...should be great fun!

I told her something gothic and dark...if you have something you want her to wear, I am sure she'll put it on...she's a size small or extra small I believe.
 most of the time people who say they will go end up coming. It looks to be a small group this time. just come on down and have some fun!

It was getting late when we got to the 1 mile / 2 mile junction and didn't want to risk having to spend the night there [they lock the gates at 5:00] so we opted for the one mile path. I'd like to return and do the 2 mile trail to see the other lake, etc.

@Doubletree - I've been to the Japanese Garden @ CSULB before, definitely a nice place to go to and take pictures if you ever get the chance. They're Koi pond is very nice and the fishes aren't shy at all, they'll gather around you if you get near the water's edge.

Hi Orbitgal & all,
I'm Dan & I just came across seeing the meetup post on Flickr frontpage today. Just checked this group out & seems like it's an interesting meetup. I'm more of a landscape person, and I can see some good potential at this place. I will give it a try at El Dorado Nature area & hopefully I'll get something out of it on that day & to meet some of you up in person.
Is there a particular place at El Dorado that eveyone supposes to meet first (ie. parking lot, front gate, etc.)?

If you plan on shooting ANY pics of the model, you will need to have a model release for her and you to sign. I will have some (like 10) copies, or you can hunt online and find your own. There are all sorts out there. If you plan on putting the pics up on your Flickr page, you do need her permission, so just bring a release and she can sign them before we get started.

Your model may *want* you to get a model release before posting on Flickr and I respect that. However, be aware that there is no legal requirement to get the release unless you plan on selling the photos or using them for commercial purposes.
