About Drawing Lab 2011
This group is Fee based.
What if I told you, you can draw? What if I told you, drawing is fun-not scary? What if I told you I’m going to teach you how to draw this year like a real artist? You might be saying to yourself right now, “I can’t draw,” “I’m not creative.” Nonsense, I said that too.
Having a foundation of basic drawing skills will help you in all of your creative work. In the same way that running a marathon can give you skills in perseverance, discipline, and focus which affect all areas of your life. So learning to draw teaches you to “see” and focus, developing your hand.
You might have tried to learn to draw from traditional drawing books or classes and felt frustrated, or worse, bored. Perhaps you’ve tried learning to draw on your own, but are critical of your efforts.
Lets put fun back into drawing! I’m hoping to help you begin to see drawing as a pleasurable activity rather than as an opportunity to beat yourself up. Honestly, line drawing is one of our first pleasures as children. We aren’t so different now, as adults. Taking this class will make you feel like a child again. That is how I hope you will feel as you experience this drawing lab. If you stick with it, you will be able to call yourself an artist by the end of 2011.
My goal for this drawing lab is to offer you a year’s worth of assignments, projects, ideas, and techniques that will introduce more creativity into your art and life! I want to offer fun ways to learn and gain skills and confidence in your drawing.
