About Kottayam:
The land of letters, legends, latex and lakes is a district in central Kerala, India. The apt geographical features and climate made the district the land of latex. Kumarakom, the major tourist place in Kottayam district has great significance in the tourist map, attracting many people from different parts of the world.
Most of the famous dailies gets published from this district. This land has contributed a lot in the field of education, health and transport facilities including backwater facilities. Moreover, it has given birth to many writers, statesmen.
Kottayam is the first district in Kerala to achieve 100% literacy.
