Ouch---hectic price, but I am glad that they are not limiting it to memory stick-----I hate memory stick and as such have never been a fan of Sony----Am really glad that they are including CF in all that!

It looks to be the same price as the R1 so I'm guessing at it costing around £550 in the UK.

It's worth noting that the Sony site refers to both a DSLR-A100 and DSLR-A100K.

Well, this IS something to look forward to! I'm glad to see that there is the flexibility to use other brand lenses, something that will be helpful. I originally got into Minolta and started collecting lenses from manual Minolta cameras to be able to use them with the 5D I was GOING TO GET this next year, until the terrible news of the demise of Minolta. Encouraged that Sony really is going to do something with the great Minolta technology. Thanks all for posting this thread and the links.

I don't think you can use manual focus (MD) lenses with the AF cameras as, IIRC, the mount is quite different.

Email from Konica Minolta:

The Konica Minolta Photo World says goodbye!

Sony will continue to develop digital SLRs based around the Konica Minolta lens mount.
This way all present Konica Minolta AF lenses remain compatible with future digital SLR
cameras from Sony. Furthermore Sony will expand the range of AF lenses for digital and
analogue SLR cameras from Konica Minolta and continue this successful SLR system.
