About Street_lights Karl-Marx-Allee Berlin
Die heutige Karl-Marx-Allee hieß bis 1961 Stalinallee. Die erste Prachtstraße, sowie die Wohnbebauung, wurden im Geiste des Sozialismus angelegt. Das gesamte Ensemble steht unter Denkmalschutz und wurde aufwendig saniert.
Was aber passiert mit den Straßenlaternen? Jede einzelne erfährt eine Metamorphose. Diese Veränderungen zu dokumentieren ist die Absicht dieser Flickr-Gruppe.

As a national monument the street lights are part of the effort to preserve the architectural idea. But what happens?
Strange developments cry for full documentation. Each street lamp undergoes a certain metamorphosis. This is our aim to show the transformation.
