Lenny,
A fine choice for this month's theme. I'd also like to voice support for your new rule – should make for more descriptive imagery.
Looking forward to a colorful, or colourful month of shots.

I hope I'm not fore-dooming this month if I start off with more bad jokes.

I just couldn't help it. "This month's theme!" is the first thing I thought when I saw Daniel at the kitchen table trying to make ten-megapixel photos out of all our two-megapixel prints.

John, as a punster, you're stretching even farther than that leash line! I like the creek though.

It took me a while but I think I have something... lot's of lines and "alignment" in this photo :)

I really like this shot. The lamp posts and benches(?) look like some sort of robots driving across the bridge.

yes I like this Jetson like city scene.
Looks like a place that KAPing was maybe a bit nervy, winds a bit dicey especially down low, felt real good to get the stuff back down without incident. The kind of shoot that gets the juices flowing- nice work.

I agree with Craig, it must have been quite an issue to get this shot. And what a great one it is...

I spent ages trying to get my camera down the chimney for this months theme!

{:OD, that really is excellent, the posting to this thread is really accelerating now. Seems like a perfect time to apologise for the following. I just cant pick between them and I've been desparately trying to get out to get a picture of this for ages (no, not the girl). I just can't pick between them, so I'll have to post all three:

OK,OK.. there is some alignment here, but I do get the feeling this post is shifting towards a completely different theme.
It must be a real impressive watch that's on display, judging by the audience

WHAAAT... is this month's theme OGLING? Sheesh, guys, I'm ashamed of you.
Lenny, despite being ashamed of you I do like the last photo better anyways because it's good to have the human scale for perspective. In the middle shot your posts look like 4x4s, not the massive things they must be.
WdrWilson, I agree with the consensus - great futuristic shot, and plenty of stuff to look at and wonder about :-)
Simon, great shot down the chimney. What an encouragement to keep trying for the shots we (my husband and I) have wanted but haven't succeded in getting. "surely if Simon can get a shot down the chimney we CAN get a clear picture of the pool on the point... or of the big sailboat coming into the dock..." or, or or the hundred other photos on our list. Thanks.
Cris, I love the aerial photo of a KAP rig. I wouldn't have guessed it to be possible! That really must have taken some alignment in three-dimensional space to PRODUCE. It's a KAP photo that only KAP photographers could appreciate, and I do appreciate it. How fun.

Cris -- That's too cool. How'd you get that one? Two cameras on one kite?

Kelly -- thanks for you comment of appreciation. Thoughtful as ever.
Dave -- Bingo. I used my radio-controlled Digital Elph rig to photograph the my Exploratorium / MAKE Magazine Very Low Cost KAP Rig (VLCKR) in action. I have flown two rigs from one kite on several occasions. Causes one to ponder what other foreground objects would be fun. Stuffed birds, live cats?
Cheers,
Cris

So that Simon knows he is not alone. I, too, play with chimneys. A recent example from Copenhagen.

Cris has a rig, I guess someone has to post a kite (aligned with some nice bridges on the horizon...)

Yes, that process needs reviewing occasionally. Here's the thread from several months ago, dealing mostly with how to tweak and post someone else's picture, but useful here too:

Lenny, is there any way to make this link float at the top of the heap somehow?

I missed out on last month's theme and the weather here has not been ideal this month either. However the picture below just about fits (click for a bigger image and more information).
