About Easter Eggs and Hidden Jokes in Children's Books

There's a long tradition of artists and illustrators adding little visual jokes, easter eggs, or hidden references in works of children's literature.

Sometimes, they're cute. Sometimes, they're oblique. Sometimes, they're HYSTERICALLY funny.

I'm starting this public Flickr group to show off some of my favorite kids books easter eggs. I'm starting with just a few and plan to keep adding to the collection throughout 2012. If you've got a great example of an artwork easter egg in a kids book, please let me know OR post it to this public group yourself.
