Lieutenant Kenneth B. Dechen served a formidable 23 years in the West Deptford Police Department before his untimely death in October of 2000. Kenny touched many lives in a very special way during his brief, but brilliant, time with us. Those who knew him for a short time, as well as those who knew him well, experienced a great sense of loss at his passing. He was a highly-respected and admired person in his community and his quick wit, immeasurable sense of humor and his intense love for his family endeared him to all. The annual Motorcycle Run, in West Deptford, is in honor of Kenny Dechen.
