This group is by invitation only, you can only join if you're friends with either a Kemo Sabe (Admin) or a Friend (Mod)! If you don't know any, come along to a Pub Night and make some new friends! We all get along here, it really is "Where everybody knows your name, and they're always glad you came."

About Ottawa Flickr Friendlies

2leaves

Just a bunch of friends who live in Ottawa, love photography and want to have fun together... nothing more and nothing less! A group "Where everybody knows your name, and they're always glad you came."

This group is a bit different to other groups on Flickr, the main difference being that we all know each other and are good friends! You can't just join this group, you have to be invited, so you must already be friends with either a Kemo Sabe or Friend!! And by friends, I really mean friends... not just another contact on Flickr! So if you want to become a member, come along to our next Pub Night and make some new friends! If you already know someone in the group ask if we're going out on a shoot and join us. Once you become a member you are a friend of friend until you come out to one of our "Shoot & Shares", where you will get to know everyone and make a lot of friends!! Here's a link to photos from our last Shoot & Share

This group has ZERO tolerance for childish behaviour, slander or harassment (hereon in referred to as "unfriendly") ... any repetitive unfriendly activity will mean permanent and immediate expulsion!

See Group Rules for more details!

Friendship: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Friendship

Friendship is the cooperative and supportive relationship between people. In this sense, the term connotes a relationship which involves mutual knowledge, esteem, affection, and respect along with a degree of rendering service to friends in times of need or crisis. Friends will welcome each other's company and exhibit loyalty towards each other, often to the point of altruism. Their tastes will usually be similar and may converge, and they will share enjoyable activities. They will also engage in mutually helping behavior, such as the exchange of advice and the sharing of hardship. A friend is someone who may often demonstrate reciprocating and reflective behaviors. Yet for some, the practical execution of friendship is little more than the trust that someone will not harm them.

A song that comes to mind when I think of what I want this group to be:

Where Everybody Knows Your Name
by Gary Portnoy and Judy Hart Angelo

Making your way in the world today takes everything you've got.
Taking a break from all your worries, sure would help a lot.

Wouldn't you like to get away?

Sometimes you want to go

Where everybody knows your name,
and they're always glad you came.
You wanna be where you can see,
our troubles are all the same
You wanna be where everybody knows
Your name.

You wanna go where people know,
people are all the same,
You wanna go where everybody knows
your name.
