About E. McKnight KaufferE. ("Ted") McKnight Kauffer (1890-1954) began his brilliant career specializing in poster design during the 1920's and 1930's. In the early teens Kauffer moved from his native Montana to England, where he gained fame and as hailed for elevating advertising to high art. After moving back to the United States in 1940, his focus shifted from posters to books. E. McKnight Kauffer was also notably married to textile designer Marion Dorn, with whom he often collaborated. |
