Katy Texas was named for the MKT Railroad (Missouri Kansas Texas) which was commonly known as the "KayTee".

Katy Texas strattles the lines of Harris County, Waller County and Fort Bend County. The largest feature in Katy is Katy Mills Mall. High Schools include James E Taylor, Cinco Ranch, Katy, Mayde Creek, Morton Ranch and Seven Lakes. Katy is a suburb of Houston TX. Lots of people who live here work in the oil industry (or oil bidness or oil patch). It is a great place to live. Katy is known for KISD or Katy Independent School District. It is a very highly rated district and produces very well educated kids. Never mind the high school tax rate - it's still very cheap for the first-class education and fine citizen-building that takes place. There are over 100 churches in Katy too! Yao Ming lived here until recently. Roger Clemens lived here for years. Clint Black is a resident as is Kimberly Caldwell. There is a scale model of Xian China's Terra Cotta Warriors.
