About Katoomba

A dedicated group for images of Katoomba in the Blue Mountains, Australia. The objective of this group is to record the community, its people, places, natural beauty, its past and present, seasons, street life, events, even its dark side. Images should be clearly identified and geotagged. Vintage photos are welcome, as are colour slides and prints, sepia, B&W, HDR...post your videos here as well.

From the roaring days of the coal mines in the 1870s to the genteel mountain retreats and grand hotels of the 1890s, the honeymooners of the 1920s and 1930s, the sailors and soldiers in the 1940s, the crazy New Years carnivals of the 1950s and 1960s, the lows of the 1970s and 1980s, the revival period of the 1990s - Katoomba has always had its own distinct character. So let your pics reflect this and add your stories to go with them if you have them.
