"There is a place in the northeast highlands of Iceland that is unique and extraordinary beautiful. At is's center one of the biggest glacial rivers in Iceland has gorged out a magnificent canyon. The river erodes and brings to tha ocean around 10 million tonns of soil each year. This area is at the heart of the second largest unspoiled wilderness areas in Europe and it is about to be destroyed by a dam and it's reservoir that will sink most of the canyon and one of the most diverse and beautyful highland areas in Iceland. Now this area is slowly all disapearing under water. This is a very controversy project in Iceland and the nation has split into two groups regarding to it. I would like to get some pictures here from this area, before the dam was raised, while it is slowly filled with water and after it has all be filled.

Best would be if you could write when the picture was taken and where => geotagged would be very nice but not necessary.

Hopefully we can learn something from this project and some pictures before and after the dam would be helpful in that process.....
