About Kansas Wildflowers
Wildflowers seen in the state of Kansas. Please identify the wildflower if you know what it is, or feel free to request assistance in identification.
Many of us are using plant life native to our area in home landscaping, assuring us of plantings that do well in our local environment, and often enabling us to conserve water usage. I urge you to include images of these flowers also, but ask that you not upload photos that do not feature those native plants.
Looking for a site to help you identify Kansas wildflowers? I have found the following quite useful:
www.kswildflower.org/. Mike Haddock's site includes more than 2550 identification photos for some 540 species of forbs, grasses, sedges, rushes, and woody plants that are found growing in state.
Rules? Other than that, we'll just play it by ear. I welcome your comments or suggestions.
