A Brief History
The KangaROOS story began in 1979 when Bob Gamm, a talented footwear designer, architect, and avid runner, needed a place to put his keys and money while running.

He patented the ROOS pocket design sneaker, and the rest, as they say, is history. In the early 80’s, ROOS was among the top 10 brands in the US, becoming an icon of fashion history. The brand was an important style leader and featured sport-specific products endorsed by pro athletes Clyde Drexler, Walter Payton and Ozzie Smith.
