About John Jarvie Historic Ranch
Photographs of the historic BLM John Jarvie Ranch and the restored trading post by the Green River in Brown's Park, Utah. This site is for the support of the reconstructed Post, historic buildings and artifacts which are now a wonderful interpretive center along the River. Please post no garish HDRs!
Brown's Park was the site of Indian artifacts, a Spanish Fort, Fort Davy Crockett, host of the trapper rendezvous, one route of the Cherokee Trail, the wintering grounds of Texas cattle drives to California, advent of ranches with illegal cattle, settlers and a wonderful incubator for outlaws like Butch, Sundance & the Wild Bunch. It now hosts camping, fishing, history treks, and rofting into the (in)famous Gates of Lodore.
