About Jiang Nan

Jiang-Nan, south of the lowest Yangtze River basin region in China, a cultural collection of refined temperament and feminine beauty.

Such cultural characteristics are shown in the rich clean rhythm of the poetry, the sweet mellow tone of the dialect, the slow-paced and lingering melody of Kunqu Opera, the crisp and delightful tune of ballad singing, the quaint and lively calligraphy, the delicate and elegant landscape painting, the simplistic and cursive engraving of seals, the merry and vivid pictures of wood-block printing, and many more, which represent the most exquisite part in Chinese classic culture.

Cities like Suzhou(Soochow), Hangzhou(Hangchow), Wuxi, Shaoxing(Shaohsing), Nanjing, Shanghai etc. are all in Jiang Nan.
