About I Take Meds

I started this group in 2007 when my seven year old son first began to ask me why he had to take antibiotics every day, and what would happen if he refused to continue... He explained to me that he didn't like feeling "different" from the rest of the family in this regard.

I thought that if he could see that he was not alone, that many people take medication, for a variety of reasons, that that knowledge would make his own experience less alienating or frightening. And, I thought that others might feel better knowing that whatever their diagnosis, they're not alone.

We are people, not diagnoses.
