About ISO - Informal Shoot Opportunity
The purpose of this group is to provide a platform for the coordination and discussion (pre and post) of informal shooting opportunities. This is not a challenge, competition, or critique group - although you are more than welcome to engage in such endeavors if other members are agreeable.
Regardless of photographic experience we all encounter times when self-directed assignments are difficult. It is fun, motivational, and social to shoot with small groups, focused on a specific topic.
The objective is to build a group of individuals who appreciate photography and photographing. Understand that everyone is not "on" all the time and will give as much as take. The only requirement is participation - members must attend (and photographically document) one ISO per month or they will be removed from the group.
Topic Guidelines
New topics should follow this naming format: YYMMDD:COUNTRY:LOCAL1:LOCAL2
(switch to ':' colon, with '.' period as separator flickr places everything in proper case - e.g. CA comes out as Ca, US as Us, with colons no case changes are made by the system.)
For example: 070512:US:CA:RWC which equates to 2007/05/12, united states, california, redwood city. The first message in the topic should contain a suggested Where, When, Topic/Theme and Directions. It is the responsibility of the member that initiates the topic to ensure that the topic message remains up-to-date with accurate information.
There will be a persistent topic per unique COUNTRY.LOCAL1 (description) for suggestion of new themes/topics/places.
For Example: US.CA (Mid-Peninsula)
Have fun and participate
Feel free to post your own Shoot Opportunity threads. The idea of the group is to prompt informal gatherings on a regular basis. If you open a thread with a day or two's notice, asking others to join and no one else shows up but you, you've met the group charter of participating in an 'ISO' as long as you post your shots here.
We all like to be prompted with unexpected shooting opportunities - the more the merrier.
