Film in Washington DC

Hey, so I'm getting ready to make a move out into the DC area and I'm wondering if anyone can give me some places to check out to get film and developing supplies. I'm from NY and I guess I'm spoiled by being able to walk in to Adorama or B&H and I'm wondering if I could find something similar in the DC area. Thanks.

Back in the '70s when I was there shooting over 550 television commercials in the area, I bought all my supplies from a store in Silver Spring, Maryland. Sorry but after 40 years I can't remember the name of the store.

Hermano, I live in DC and shoot film. There is a Calumet photo that used to be Penn Camera near Chinatown. They stock plenty of film and develop C-41 and B and W. For E6 I recommend Dodge Chrome in the Palisades, it's kinda far but reachable by bus. I highly recommend prophoto-dc.com/ downtown; their prices are a bit higher but it's family-run and they also repair cameras. There is also Embassy Camera near Dupont circle, they sell film. Also, the CVS by Dupont circle develop C-41 in one hour, I've used it with no problems for quick development.
If you have any questions let me know.

There is probably more in the suburbs (Virginia and Maryland) but I don't have a car, only a bike and public transport, and all those recommendations are reachable by either one.

Thanks guys. I'll be moving to MD actually and will have a car so I will be able to get around that way and would love suggestions in VA and MD. I also don't really need labs so much (well maybe E6). I do all my development at home. Just wanted to get some recommendations from anyone for best bang for buck and best places in the area. Will look into all those places when I get down there though, and see what I can find for photo places in Silver Spring.

I think Nestor gave you great leads. I'd note that Dodge Chrome has a branch in Silver Spring, MD, I believe (and I heartily recommend them for E6 processing), and I believe Calumet/Penn has a branch in Rockville, MD. Calumet/Penn in Chinatown has a pretty good selection of Ilford paper, some Ilford and Kodak chems, and lots of film -- I suspect their Rockville store is similarly stocked.
You should also note, though, that UPS ground shipping from Adorama or B&H is almost always "next day delivery" in practical terms, so if there's something you can't get locally, you can pretty quickly get it from NYC.
Good luck and welcome to the area.

Honestly, I live in the suburbs of Maryland, and work in DC, and even when I was actually living in DC, I always found ordering online at BH or Adorama to be just as fast and easy as buying film locally. In a pinch, the Ritz on L st south of Dupont Circle, and the chinatown Calumet both mentioned above are where I would go, but I have found that the selection at both has gone downhill over the years as fewer people shoot film.

Appreciate all the suggestions. Will look into all of them. I'm being budget minded in asking this. I'm not employed and don't spend a lot at a time at the moment so shipping costs would not be worthwhile just yet. When I get income going I may do it but for now I'd just like to be able to walk into a store and buy a couple rolls or a liter of developer when I need it.
