About UV IR Fujifilm Finepix IS PRO

This group is primarily for users of the Fujifilm IS PRO, a full-spectrum DSLR camera that is sensitive to infrared through to ultraviolet. Mechanically based on the Nikon D200 body, it uses a Fuji sensor and Fuji imaging software.

Originally available only to professional markets such as forensic investigation, a few have found their way into private hands. As of September-October 2010 the bodies are available in small quantities from a number of dealers at 'discontinued' prices (around the same as a Nikon D3000 with a kit lens).

Unlike the (many) converted DSLR and other cameras, the IS PRO is factory-intended to be full spectrum. So it's very fast at IR and pretty good at UV. If you put an IR-UV cut filter on it, you can even take normal-looking photos!

Please limit posts to 'safe' IS PRO images. Comparison images from other cameras are allowed, as long as they are of the same subject and intended to illustrate some technical or artistic facet.
