This beautiful park is located in the beautiful municipality of San Antonio del Tequendama only 35 minutes from the city of Bogota, capital of Colombia, which has a special atmosphere during the day average of 18 to 22 degrees Celsius (65 to 72 degrees Fahrenheit). Climate just right for the development of this great variety of plants.

This spectacular garden is among the mountains of the central mountain range, leaving a beautiful sight to enjoy, providing an atmosphere of peace and tranquility. It counts with an extension of more than 18,000 square meters, where over 5000 species of orchids are exhibited and distributed strategically through its route between stone paths and a lush forest.

Here you will find many orchids large and impressive in size, as miniature flowers that only measure millimeters in circumference from where we see bees, wasps and flies that pollinate most of the orchids, plus some cloud forest species typical of this region pollinated by hummingbirds.

The garden offers a large collection of orchids; each is duly identified by its scientific name. Within these you will find species endemic to this region and other varieties from Asia, Europe and several countries of America,, as well as a collection of miniature orchids, including the smallest in the world, "Platystele jungermanniodes", which measures equal to the tip of a pin.

Definitely visiting this beautiful garden is like having a walk through a wonderful scientific journey full of surprises and toured by in English or Spanish, which can last between 45 and 60 minutes.



Este bello parque esta ubicado en el hermoso municipio de San Antonio del Tequendama a solo 35 minutos de la Ciudad de Bogota, Capital de Colombia, que mantiene durante todo el año un extraordinario clima promedio durante el día de 18 a 22 grados centígrados (65 a 72 grados Fahrenheit), cuyo clima justamente es el mas apropiado para el desarrollo de esta gran variedad de plantas.

Este espectacular Jardín se encuentra entre las montañas de la cordillera central, dejándonos gozar de una vista hermosa en un ambiente de paz y tranquilidad. Cuenta con una extensión de mas de 18.000 metros cuadrados, donde se encuentran exhibidas mas de 5.000 especies de orquídeas distribuidas estratégicamente a través de su recorrido entre caminos de piedra y un exuberante bosque.

Acá encontramos muchas orquídeas grandes e impresionantes por su tamaño, como flores miniaturas que miden apenas milímetros de circunferencia, que a través de nuestro recorrido veremos abejas, avispas y moscas que polinizan la mayoría de las orquídeas, más algunas especies de los bosques nubosos propios de esta región son polinizados por colibríes.

Este bello Jardín nos ofrece una amplia colección de Orquídeas, cada una debidamente identificada con su nombre científico, encontrando en el camino especies endémicas propias de esta región y otras variedades provenientes de Asia, Europa y de varios países de América, como una colección de orquídeas miniatura incluyendo la más pequeña del mundo, la Platystele jungermanniodes, que mide igual a la punta de un alfiler.

Definitivamente visitar este bello jardín es hacer una caminata por un maravilloso recorrido científico lleno de sorpresas y guiada en inglés o español, que puede durar entre 45 y 60 minutos.
