01 Sep 09 - The difference between Insect Photography and Insect Close-Ups is that Insect Photography allows all photos of insects, whether they are up close or in a distance when you are photographing. Insect Close-Ups only allows close-ups and macros of insects. Over 8,000 members and over 100,000 items.

Good site to use for identifying insects, spiders and larvae: www.gardensafari.net/index.htm

Taking photos of insects of all kinds, even those in battles with spiders - even though insects lose those battles. And any kind of larvae, including caterpillars, go ahead and post them. Even insect nests with or without insects. And also videos within the group rules and up to 90 seconds now permitted. Even just spiders if you wish to post them.

No limit for adding photos or videos. The limit for this group doesn't ever change as long as I am still part of this group and as the original starting admin or as the head admin.

Junk comments, including anything obscene, are not allowed. Also, NO nudity and pornography photos will be permitted. Only Safe items are permitted. Off-topic discussions like religion, politics or violent crimes will NOT be accepted - they will be immediately deleted without warning. Those in the Administration are not allowed to be blocked. Anybody disobeying these rules will be in trouble. And members whose photos and videos are those stolen from other sources will be banned and not allowed back in. These are STRICT rules.

Mosaics, two-in-one photos, Photo Shop modified, scanned Polaroids and panoramics are also permitted here. Even creations with Dumpr, Flickr Toys (except Explore posters since the photos in those are always different subjects), and Picnik.

This group doesn't have themes by the week, month or year, ever.
