About In the Grass, On the Reef

WFSU-TV is working with two biologists studying ecosystems on Florida's Forgotten Coast. Dr. Randall Hughes studies biodiversity in salt marshes (St. Joseph Bay) and Dr. David Kimbro studies predator/ prey relationships on oyster reefs (Alligator Harbor). These habitats serve an important role in the overall ecology of the area, and provide shelter to many species of importance to tourism, commercial fishing, and to our way of life here. This is why we also feature local artists and others who work along the coast.
