23 Oct 07 - All communication is through symbols. Some symbols carry precision of message and others carry poetry, thats all.
The symbols of India are fascinating - In this beautiful jungle of people, these symbols have enabled communication at multiple levels.
Some of the symbols that you see here are the some of the most enduring ones that mankind has produced. Some are religious, some are cultural . Some are worshipped and others are not even noticed, but have still lasted for millenia.

About Traditional Symbols and Icons of India

The intent of the group is to compile a collection of traditional graphical symbols and icons of India.
Kindly post any pictures, drawings or illustrations of such traditional symbols and icons.

Any references and information that you may have about what you are posting would be highly welcome.

(Obviously, we are not talking about modern logos, but rather graphical symbols of cultural and traditional importance)
