Well here's an example of multiple transports. Shot this one rainy day in Darya Ganj (Old Delhi)

There's a horse, an auto, a rickshaw, bicycles, scooters, pedestrians and cars. And the ubiquitous delhi water cart (50p per glass).

Cycle rickshaws are quite popular in old delhi. No other way to go through the maze like bylanes. Also, some localities around New Delhi you find differnt "benches-welded-on-cycle-rickshaw-body" type transports.
Donkeys are rarely personal transports , mostly just goods transporters

And from rusty old mopeds...

To.. Magnificiant cruiser bikes

Doing my bit to shore up Hindustan Motors! :) If there's any better demonstration of the Ambassador's superior ride quality, spaciousness and comfort, I'd like to see it.

Inglian: No better demonstration for sure. Ambassador's the coolest car on the Indian roads.
A pleasure to drive too, the old Ambys, old engine, hand gear (on the wheel) versions.
Scooters are also popular..

Call taxi in Chennai - the view from inside. Owners spend a lot of time and money beautifying these bread-winners...

Assortment of bicycles and motorbikes at a traffic signal in Chennai

A lone moped rider on Chennai roads. Mopeds are very common on Indian roads - they do not cost much, are cheap to run and are ideal transport for families on a budget. This one boasts a 50cc engine!

The view from inside an auto-rickshaw. This was taken in Chennai. Auto-rickshaws are popular with most of the travelling public but not their drivers - they are known to extort exorbitant fares from the unsuspecting - they have meters but usually they don't work so one sees many a wary traveller intensely arguing with the drivers either before or after the journey . .

Suburban commuter train rushing towards Avadi station on the Madras (Chennai) Beach to Arakkonam line (East - West corridor). Like in other cities in India that have suburban overland railway systems, the trains are crowded to the hilt and at peak hours you will see people hanging out from the open doors, sometimes quite precariously.
