About I Love Old Signs!

Do you love old signs? If so, this is probably a group you'll enjoy!

What's welcome:

Old neon (working or not), steel or plastic signs. Ghost ads on the sides of buildings. Look carefully at your sign. Does it look older than 1970 or so? Then it'll probably fit into the group OK. We're not going to be too harsh, or make you produce evidence that proves the age of your sign. If it looks and feels old, it'll most likely fit in. ("Vintage" is welcome, "Retro" is not. "Retro" means new made to look old, "Vintage" is old, the real thing.) We're pretty easy going here. It's all about the appreciation of old signs and the craftsmenship it took to make them.

The group works "on approval", which means when you add it, someone has to look at it before it's either approved or not for the group. This isn't anything personal, it just lets us better screen what's in the group, and keep some folks from dumping stuff that doesn't belong. (It's much easier to clean now than later!) If your photo wasn't approved, please don't take it personally, just try another. :-) Photos that are invited to the group appear instantly. (Note: If a photo you posted didn't get added, please don't add it again, thanks!)

What doesn't fit here:

Road/highway signs, historical markers, new signs, reproductions of old signs (which include those fake-old signs you buy at a gift shop), temporary (paper/posterboard) signs. Make it nice, make it old, and it's a shoe-in for the group. :-)

Please, if you have multiple angles/shots of the same sign, post only what you feel is the best of them.

Please feel free to browse the contributions of others, and perhaps leave a comment if you enjoy their photo. This isn't a rule or commandment, just tryin' to be neighborly. :-)
