Visitors to the award-winning North City Library in Manchester have snapped up the chance to capture their passion for it on camera.

The 'I (Heart) North City' digital photography project encouraged enthusiasts of the ultra-modern library in Harpurhey to create an image of their favourite feature - whether it's the bright blue photovoltaic cells which give the building its distinctive appearance, an intriguing view or simply a comfortable chair.

The building, shared with MANCAT's North Manchester Sixth Form College, has won national recognition including an award from the Royal Institute of British Architects who labelled it 'inspiring.'

All the pictures are displayed in this online gallery, then in an exhibition in North City Library between February 14th and March 15th 2008.

North City Library is about 15 minutes north from Manchester City Centre and buses 17, 64, 124 run right past us.
